Course Scope                
The specific repertoire for 2009 will be selected after the auditions, and will be published in early April 2009.  Participants are expected to have learnt the music
by the beginning of the course, and to attend the rehearsal weekend.
During the course, emphasis will be placed on vocal health, posture, the arts of solo and ensemble singing, language skills, interpretation and presentation.    

STOP PRESS - The 2009 Smaull Song Singing Course is now fully booked. However, there are still a few places on the Islay-based singing course which runs in parallel with the course at Smaull. Applications are available on the For Islay Singers page.

Participants
There will be up to 12 participants from all voice ranges. Selection will be
after interviews and auditions, which will take place in London and in
Glasgow.

Accommodation
Accommodation is provided at Smaull and in local holiday cottages near
the beautiful beaches at Kilchoman and Sanaigmore. All meals, except breakfast for those staying in holiday cottages, are provided at Smaull.

Auditions:  14th March 2008 in London; Glasgow auditions to be confirmed
Rehearsal weekend in London:  4th-5th July 2009
Course:   1st–8th August 2009

Costs for 2009
£595.00 per person
This includes accommodation (based on 2 people sharing), meals, and
course expenses.
Not included are travel to Islay, Alexander Technique lessons, recreational
activities nor the rehearsal weekend.  Any costs incurred at the rehearsal
weekend, which will be kept to a minimum, will be recovered separately.

Deposit will be refunded in the event of non-selection after audition.
